Role description
Zizwe’s Employees’ Children are being invited to apply for Zizwe’s development of human capital, especially the youth in the various Zizwe Opencast Mining (ZOM) operational areas/host communities.
The Yes 4 Youth learners will be mentored by Site Supervisors for 12 months, facilitated through the YES 4 Youth Initiative. The Learners were selected based on Merit and willingness to learn and develop a career in a variety of specialized professions. We are offering a work-based learning opportunity for learners between the ages of 18-35 that are highly motivated and are seeking an opportunity for first-hand work experience.

More about the Program
All required program learning materials and equipment will be provided (free) to the successful registered candidates, in order to participate in the program.
Each candidate will be placed on a specific Zizwe Opencast Mining site, in close proximity to his/her local host community residential area and will receive a monthly stipend (salary).
All candidates will be placed under the mentorship of an identified on-site Zizwe Opencast Mining Supervisor.
Candidates will be given adequate time for the completion of the modules for the “Yes4Youth” program. The “Yes4Youth” program duration is 12 months.
Candidates may also receive on-site training and be required to fulfill given tasks in accordance with theircapabilities and requirements (as required).
Following the completion of the “Yes4Youth” program, the successful candidates will be adequately equipped to apply for employment in the industry.
At the end of the “Yes4Youth” program, ZOM will absorb a minimum of one successful candidate on a permanent employment basis.

Role requirement
We are looking for dedicated, committed, and passionate learners who are serious about developing their careers and learning the ropes of the working environment whilst applying themselves in their studies.
Zizwe is looking for Students that:
1) Children of a direct parent, who is a current Zizwe Opencast Mining employee, residing in the relevant host community.
2) In order to qualify, suitable candidates must be; Aged between 18 – 35 years and unemployed.
3) Must pass the relevant Zizwe operational site’s medical.
4) Must have a Grade 12 (matric) certificate and not have participated in the Yes4Youth program before.
5) Residing in the local host communities of the Eastern, Central or Western regions, where ZOM is currently operating.
