Job Description:

The successful Candidates will be afforded an opportunity to enroll in an external Unemployed (18.2 B1) Three-year Learnership programme leading to the selected qualification as a qualified Artisan.

Our Three-year Artisan Learnership Program is an enrichment program for the community and will enable you to develop skills with classroom and on-the-job/core training at Amandelbult Mine. 

This Program will enable you to maximize your potential along with a tailored plan to provide you with a future to make a difference. As you progress through your Artisan learnership program, we will help you discover your real capability and develop your skills as an Artisan.

Training Programs for Artisan Learner will consist of:

  • 1st year: Institutional training at ESTC, Engineering Skills Training Centre.
  • 2nd year: On-the-job/core training at Amandelbult Mine.
  • 3rd year: Complete trade test
Qualifications:

The following are the minimum entry requirements into the programme:

  • Matric with Mathematics (not Mathematics Literacy), Physical Science and English (all with minimum 40% pass), or
  • N2 or higher with all subjects as per the specific Discipline Requirements or
  • NCV Level – 4 in appropriate trade with all subjects passed with a minimum 40% pass

Additional information:

Learnership Conditions:

  • Must be prepared to work underground and in ‘dusty areas’
  • Work in accordance to work schedule of area and could possibly involve working shifts
  • Must be a South African Citizen
  • Must pass the relevant psychometric assessment
  • Must have a medical certificate of fitness or able to obtain one
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills in English
  • A valid South African Driver’s license will be advantageous
