Job Description
We are looking to give 2 people an exciting opportunity to start embarking on a Career within our Planning Team as Merchandise Controllers at Support Centre George. The Merchandise Controller will mainly be responsible to ensure the efficient allocation of stock from DC’s to Stores, the transfer of stock between stores, stores-and product analyses and other admin related duties. The role is responsible for the delivery & implementation of the merchandise stocking strategy. Tekkie Town is looking for a self-confident, motivated, positive, and resilient individual who can think laterally and who has strong analytical and proven numerical abilities.
Qualifications
A Grade 12 certificate or equivalent is an essential requirement
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Proficiency in the latest Microsoft packages (Word & Excel) is an essential requirement
Experience as Store Manager or working within a store environment will be beneficial
Knowledge of the retail merchandise cycle with regards to Buying, planning, logistics and stores will be advantageous
A strong logical thinking and analytical ability with excellent numerical skills and the ability to be accurate and pay attention to detail
Has a high energy level and is performance-driven to meet strict deadlines.
Excellent planning, organizing and time management skills
Ability to remain flexible, function under pressure and maintain a positive attitude and work performance in a variety of circumstances
Key Responsibilities
Allocating stock to optimize Sales and Efficiencies:
Through the movement of stock, correct inventory levels within stores in cases where stores are over/under-stocked in terms of capacity or in terms of low/high forward covers as a result of projected future sales
Validate and facilitate requests for stock from field teams and execute accordingly, whether it be the transfer of additional stock to fulfil the request, or the declination of the request due to insufficient availability or data-based inability to do so
Proactively monitor product performance and identify products to be balanced/consolidated
Ensure the regular movement of stock into stores based on recent sales performance to minimize lost sales due to stock-outs
Execution of valid requests for movement of stock by Planner, Planning Manager, Head of Planning, the Buying team and/or an Executive Member
Actively drive own development to achieve the deliverables of the role
Identify sales opportunities in their product portfolio, including stores and countries
Store support and visits
