Role Details

Gold Fields Australia is currently seeking a Service Crew Operator to join their Underground Mining Team at St Ives Gold Mine.

 

The successful incumbent of this role will report to the Shift Supervisor and be responsible for providing quality and timely underground mining support services such as air, water, ventilation, pump lines and electricity.

 

This role is offered on 4 days on, 4 nights on, 6 days off roster, and would require the incumbent to be residential in Kambalda or Kalgoorlie.

About the role:

  • Be organized and prepared to undertake all assigned tasks by the Supervisor
  • Carrying out operational tasks relating to ventilation, water, power and paste, assisting colleagues to do the same and seeking the advice and support from the Mining Shift Supervisor as required.
  • Operation of tools and equipment including but not limited to Elevated Work Platforms, Integrated Tool Carriers and other hydraulically operated mobile machinery.
  • Assist in the provision of preventative maintenance through scheduled inspections, servicing, adjustments, troubleshooting and organising the timely repair of operating equipment; and,
  • Action all allocated tasks in accordance with current site environmental policies including the requirements to control, contain, clean-up and communicate all environmental spills with particular attention to oil and hydraulic leaks.
  • Assisting with the installation of ground support, mixing grout, installing cable bolts and all relevant ground support as required.

 

About you:

  • Extensive record of safe underground mining practices.
  • Apply First Aid ticket desirable.
