Our client is looking for a Security Guard to join. An individual with a passion of people safety will thrive in this role.
You will mainly be required to undertake the surveillance of the premises and ensure the protection of staff, visitors and the premises. You will also be responsible for detecting any suspicious happenings and preventing vandalism, thefts or any other criminal behavior.

Basic responsibilities:
• Secure, track and report on: All incoming traffic (employees, clients, suppliers, incoming stock deliveries)
• Signing in of all incoming traffic
• Secure, track and report on: All outgoing traffic (employees, clients, suppliers, outgoing deliveries)
• Signing out and security checks on vehicles leaving the premises
• Adhere to overall security checks with the ability to prevent criminal and fraudulant activities
• Comfortable to work overtime or shifts as and when required
• Ability to securely deliver dangerous goods from time to time
• Secure the perimiters of the property with key attention to movement and other activities
• Monitor surveillance cameras with ability to identify if it is not operational as required
• Respond to alarms and communicate effectively with security service providers and business management
• Secure all entrances/exits (Doors, windows, gates, fences, alarm systems, cameras)
• Adhere to time management
• Ability to capture data and write reports of incoming and outgoing traffic
• Ability to think on your feet / critical thinker
• Take the role serious, but also have a passion to enjoy the responsibilites and be a team player
• Previous/current First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain will be great
• Knowledge/previous experience with legal handling of combat tools along with steps to take in a dangerous or critical situation
Minimum requirements:
• Previous experience as a Security Guard in a Technical, Engineering, Manufacturing, Production, Warehousing, Logistics or similar environment
• Matric certificate
• Security certificate/registered as a Security Officer or similar is preferred
• A valid SA ID
• Driver’s license, preferably Code 10
• Previous experience or knowledge of security cameras will be preferred
• Contactable references available (we will contact them on application after screen calling you)
• Physically and mentally healthy and fit for the role with a clear criminal record
Due to the seriousness of the role, we are starting the onboarding process. The role is to be filled towards June 2024. Benefits will be discussed in the screening process. The salary is negotiable depending on experience.
