The J.P. Morgan South African franchise invites unemployed graduates to apply for the 2025 Jumpstart Internship Program.

As a 2025 Jumpstart Intern in J.P. Morgan’s Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB), you will gain exposure of a world-class organisation in the South African franchise, where you will join one of our lines of business in Banking, Markets, Operations, Finance, or Technology, and have the opportunity to be mentored by our professionals and leaders both in the local and global business.

The program will be based in Johannesburg and last from January 2025 to December 2025 with a possibility of renewal up to December 2026. Shortlisted candidates for the 2025 Jumpstart Internship Program will be required to successfully complete the 3-week Winter Internship Program during the 2024 winter university vacation period (1 July 2024 – 19 July 2024).

Job responsibilities

  • Performs tasks and receives training depending on the placement area
  • Actively participates in projects from starting point up to completion, and provides support to tasks relating to the aligned placement area

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Eligibility to work in South Africa
  • Final year Bachelor’s degree with sound academic results (all faculties welcome)
  • Fluency in English
  • Self-starter with a can-do attitude and ability to work under pressure
  • Good communication and listening skills
  • Attention to detail, logical, and well organised
  • Strong analytical and management skills, and ability to adhere to strict deadlines
