This role requires shift work across trading and non-trading hours, including Sundays and public holidays. You’ll report directly to the Supervisor and Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities
If you’re successful in securing this Warehouse General Assistant job, your daily responsibilities will include:
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the equipment yard
- Store all equipment safely and securely
- Perform daily stock counts and equipment checks
- Operate heavy equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks safely
- Prepare third-party equipment for return
- Conduct pre- and post-use inspections of all tools
- Uphold security procedures to protect company assets
- Work efficiently to meet productivity targets
- Assist with equipment-related duties as needed
- Apply strong numeric skills for counting and tracking
- Safely lift heavy objects during warehouse operations
- Keep calm and productive during peak periods
- Maintain stamina while working in hot environments
- Be a positive team member and contribute to a safe work culture
Requirements
To qualify for this Warehouse General Assistant job, you must meet the following:
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Proficient in English
- Clear criminal record
Preferences
Although not mandatory, candidates with the following will be at an advantage:
- South African citizenship
- 1+ year experience in a warehouse setting
- Experience operating warehouse equipment
- Reside within 15km of the workplace
