Duties and Responsibilities
As a General Miner, your duties will include:
- Conducting safety inspections to ensure a secure working environment
- Managing blasting operations and preparing the site to standard
- Monitoring safety and compliance with mining protocols
- Replenishing materials and managing shift progress reports
- Liaising with Supervisors to ensure smooth shift operations
- Supporting the mining team with ore handling and construction activities
- Ensuring correct documentation and checklists are maintained
Requirements
Educational & Certification Requirements:
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- National Certificate NQF Level 3 Rock Breaker or valid Blasting Certificate (Underground, Hard Rock)
Experience:
- 1 to 3 years in a mining role (Miner or Crew Captain)
- Trackless mining experience is a bonus
Additional:
- Successful candidates must pass a Medical Fitness Test
