As a Client Service representative, you’ll be the first point of contact for clients—helping them engage with digital tools, manage transactions, and receive professional support across multiple banking services.


Job Purpose

The primary purpose of the role is to educate clients on self-service and digital solutions, process cash transactions, and ensure first-line device maintenance. This role plays a key part in meeting business goals and exceeding client expectations.


Key Responsibilities

Client Engagement:

  • Educate clients about online banking and self-service devices
  • Assist with downloading apps, buying airtime/data, and accessing statements
  • Build and nurture long-standing relationships
  • Identify potential leads and refer them to appropriate departments
  • Own client requests from start to finish

Business Operations:

  • Process deposits, withdrawals, foreign exchange, and transfers
  • Maintain and load ATMs and store devices
  • Control stock such as cards and ensure proper destruction of old stock
  • Balance and secure cash and stock holdings
  • Perform daily checklist actions across teller and enquiry functions

Risk and Compliance:

  • Follow authentication procedures to prevent fraud
  • Manage drop safes and cash limits within policy
  • Adhere to all Nedbank risk and compliance protocols

Requirements

Minimum Education:

  • Diploma (NQF Level 6)
  • Preferred: Higher Certificate in Banking Services (NQF5)

Experience:

  • 1–2 years in Retail/Banking Client Services
  • Experience in handling cash and foreign exchange
  • Tech-savvy with first-line issue resolution experience

Technical Knowledge:

  • Customer service and relationship management
  • Forex and product knowledge
  • Problem-solving and Nedbank security policies
