What You’ll Learn and Do
The programme includes structured on-the-job training and formal instruction, empowering you to:
- Complete a full artisan training programme per company and SETA requirements
- Maintain and improve production machinery
- Plan, evaluate, and carry out maintenance and repair work
- Operate safely within legal and company health and safety frameworks
- Learn machine-specific technical competencies and work systems
- Contribute to plant efficiency through continuous improvement efforts
Minimum Requirements for SAB Apprenticeship Programme Jobs
To qualify for SAB Apprenticeship Programme Jobs, you need:
- Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science
- A National Technical Certificate (N3/N4) in the relevant trade
- Interest in pursuing trades such as Millwright
- N5/N6 qualifications (advantageous but not essential)
- Willingness to attend training in Johannesburg
