Requirements: Traffic Officer Career Opportunity

To qualify for the Traffic Officer Career Opportunity, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Unemployed youth aged 18–35
  • Grade 12 certificate or Vocational National Certificate Level 4 (no statement of results accepted)
  • RSA Identity Document
  • Police Criminal Clearance Report (obtained within three weeks, from SAPS only)
  • Medical report confirming fitness for strenuous exercise (issued by a registered health professional)
  • Valid driver’s license (code 8, 10, or 14 — no learners, no tattoos)
  • Proof of residence (from Municipality or Traditional Council)

Note: Applicants with prior public service learnership experience are ineligible. Applications on incorrect Z83 forms will be disqualified.
