Learnership Overview: Toyota Youth Skills Programme

Participants in the Toyota youth skills opportunity will be exposed to comprehensive training that blends theory with practical on-the-job learning. The learnership is structured to provide skills aligned with the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) Level 3.


Duties & Responsibilities: Toyota youth skills programme

Participants will be trained in the following areas:

  • Working effectively in a team environment
  • Safe use of hand tools
  • Reading assembly and manufacturing drawings
  • Marking off and basic welding
  • Machine operation and monitoring
  • Surface preparation techniques
  • Firefighting fundamentals
  • Operations and product dispatch

Requirements to Qualify Toyota youth skills programme

To qualify for the Toyota youth skills opportunity, applicants must meet the following:

  • Grade 12 or Technical Matric
  • National Technical Certificate (N3 – N6)
  • Subjects: Mathematics, Physical Science, Engineering Science, Electrical or Mechanical Trade Theory, Motor Trade Theory, Mechanical Drawing, or Graphic Design
