About the Public Health Data Capturer Role
The Data Capturer will play a key role in supporting the M&E Specialist by capturing and consolidating data from various healthcare facilities and partners. This role ensures timely reporting through weekly, monthly, and quarterly updates. It’s a critical position that keeps healthcare projects on track and ensures data-driven decision-making.
Minimum Requirements: Public health data capturer
- Grade 12 certificate (Matric)
- Tertiary qualification (advantageous)
- Training or experience with TIER.Net software
- Solid knowledge of HIV/AIDS
- At least 2 years’ experience working with Department of Health (DoH) data or M&E systems (from patient level to DHIS level)
- Experience with public health data collection and capturing
- Familiarity with the public health sector and District Health System (advantageous)
- Proficiency in MS Office
- English communication skills; isiXhosa (advantageous)
- Clear criminal record

Key Duties in This Public Health Data Capturer Role
1. Data Capturing and Consolidation
- Capture and consolidate facility data
- Ensure all weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports are received and processed
- Update databases as required
- Format and structure data to meet reporting standards
2. Data Management
- Maintain a register of data submission contacts at each facility
- Alert the M&E Specialist if data is delayed or missing
- Keep accurate records of all submissions
3. Collaboration and Administration
- Work with colleagues and project managers to meet objectives
- Engage with Department of Health and TB HIV Care staff for relevant data
- Perform filing and general administrative tasks as needed
