Minimum Requirements for Aftercare Assistant Job Opportunity
To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following:
- Matric (Grade 12) certificate required
- Formal qualification in childcare or ECD/Foundation Phase teaching
- South African citizenship
- Previous experience working with young children
- Preference for those with childcare qualifications
- Clear criminal record
- Fluent in both spoken and written English

Duties: Aftercare Assistant Job Opportunity
As an Aftercare Assistant, your daily responsibilities will include:
- Supervising and ensuring children’s safety at all times
- Creating a fun, structured aftercare environment
- Reporting incidents and keeping documentation up to date
- Administering first aid when necessary
- Helping with homework and organizing children’s belongings
- Assisting with toileting needs and hygiene practices
- Serving snacks and maintaining clean eating areas
- Engaging children in educational and age-appropriate play
- Monitoring playground and classroom activities
- Daily parent communication and sign-in processes
Work Hours
- Core shift: 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM
- Additional morning shift (7:15 AM) as needed
