Gain Practical Workplace Experience Through Transnet Training
Transnet is offering an exciting opportunity for university students to gain practical workplace experience training. This 12-month programme is designed for University of Technology students who have completed their theoretical subjects and are now ready for real-world exposure.
This structured Work Integrated Learning (WIL) programme aims to help technical and non-technical trainees build the confidence, knowledge, and skills necessary for future employment.

What Does the Transnet Training Programme Include?
Participants in the practical workplace experience will:
- Deliver specific tasks within their assigned department or work stream.
- Shadow experienced staff and learn through meetings, workshops, and job exposure.
- Communicate with internal customers and understand urgent business needs.
- Serve as a central point of contact for supplier and user queries.
- Assist in administrative and research duties.
- Create structured reports and presentations using Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
- Receive mentorship and feedback on their progress.
Qualifications and Requirements Practical Workplace Experience Training

- Be South African citizens
- Be University of Technology students (S4/S5) in Electronics, Industrial Engineering, or Physical Metallurgy
- Have completed all theoretical subjects
- Provide a letter confirming Work Integrated Learning from their institution
- Submit an academic record, certified matric certificate, and certified ID copy
- Have no bursary obligations
