The Eskom YES Learnership 2025 is now open for applications! If you’re a young South African aged 18 to 34, with Grade 12 including Maths and Accounting, and looking for your first work experience, this is your chance.
This program is part of the Youth Employment Service (YES) initiative led by the Presidency. Eskom is committed to creating job opportunities for unemployed youth across South Africa—particularly in the North West province, including Klerksdorp and Vryburg.
Who Can Apply?
To qualify for the Eskom YES Learnership 2025, you must:
- Be a South African citizen
- Be between 18 and 34 years old
- Have a Grade 12 certificate with Mathematics and Accounting
- Have no prior permanent work experience
- Be currently unemployed and not studying full time
- Not have participated in the YES initiative before
About the Eskom YES Learnership 2025
Successful applicants will sign a 12-month fixed-term contract and gain real-world work experience in Eskom’s operations. Departments you may be placed in include:
- Human Resources
- Finance
- Maintenance & Operations
- Business Enablement
- Asset Creation
- Retail
This opportunity will expose you to the inner workings of the energy and utilities industry, boosting your future employability.

As a learner, you’ll be expected to:
- Demonstrate honesty, professionalism, and accountability
- Communicate effectively and work as part of a team
- Commit fully to the 12-month learnership program
