EduPower Learner Job Opportunities Learnerships are a key solution to creating work-ready skills for unemployed youth in South Africa. EduPower Skills Academy is leading the way by not only training young people but also providing permanent job opportunities. In an inspiring move, EduPower has successfully offered full-time employment to 20 of its graduates.
According to Rajan Naidoo, Managing Director at EduPower, they saw early signs that unemployment rates would rise sharply and took decisive action.
“We designed a powerful absorption model that recruits, trains, gives real work experience, and offers permanent jobs to our learners after their learnerships,” he explains.
EduPower Learner Job Opportunities Focus: Training With Purpose
EduPower’s absorption model has shown impressive results. After a successful pilot, the Academy absorbed three graduates. Following this success, a larger intake has now secured job opportunities.
By creating these employment pathways, EduPower aims to offer over 100 job opportunities to learners in the coming years. Importantly, more than half of those absorbed are individuals living with disabilities, highlighting the inclusive strength of the model.
Some graduates have joined the EduPower team directly, meaning that the Academy’s workforce now largely consists of its own graduates. Most new employment opportunities, however, are in entrepreneurship, where graduates help to run small businesses.

Strong Partnerships Build a Strong Future
EduPower’s model is made possible through partnerships with South Africa’s leading companies. These corporate sponsors support recruitment, training, and partial funding for employment. In return, companies benefit from gaining valuable B-BBEE Skills Development points.
“Our high-quality training and real-world model ensure success,” says Rajan.
EduPower believes that training must lead to meaningful work. While many graduates complete their education, few find jobs due to lack of experience. EduPower bridges this gap by creating real jobs, not just offering certificates.

Rajan highlights that learnerships are flexible tools for building South Africa’s future. Whether individuals have completed Grade 12 or not, learnerships offer the chance to earn while learning and gain work-readiness skills.
