Duties & Responsibilities
As part of this welding apprenticeship for unemployed youths, selected candidates will:
- Participate in intensive practical and theoretical training.
- Operate welding equipment under supervision.
- Read and interpret technical drawings.
- Ensure safety compliance in the workshop.
- Assist in real-time plant welding tasks during training rotations.

Requirements for Welding apprenticeship for youth
To qualify for this welding apprenticeship for youths, applicants must meet one of the following sets of requirements:
Option 1:
- Grade 12 / Matric Certificate with:
- English
- Engineering Mathematics N3
- Engineering Science N3
- Trade-related theory subject (advantageous)
Option 2:
- NCV Level 4 / Grade 12 Equivalent with:
- English NCV L4 or First Additional Language NCV L4
- Pure Mathematics L4
- Engineering Science
- Trade-related theory subject: Welding or Platers Theory (compulsory)
