What Does a General Worker Do?
Duties and Responsibilities – City Tshwane General Worker
- Clear sewer blockages and assist with water pipe leak repairs
- Excavate and backfill trenches using manual tools (shovels, pickaxes, rakes, etc.)
- Load/unload materials and tools from the plumber’s vehicle
- Operate basic water pumping equipment
- Help align and fit water pipe sections
- Maintain and clean work areas, tools, and trucks
- Adhere strictly to Occupational Health and Safety standards
- Clean the depot and perform related support functions

Minimum Requirements to Apply
- Basic literacy and relevant experience in water and sanitation maintenance (advantageous)
