Job Advert Summary
Reporting to the Head Protective Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for effective investigations, maintenance of fences, gates, storekeeping, vehicle control and access control systems ensuring effective access control, crime prevention measures, patrolling and guarding of Rand Water property in compliance with relevant legislation, company policies and procedures.
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 or equivalent.
NKP and PSIRA registration.
Two years relevant security experience within a National Key point installation.
Competency certificate from SAPS in handling Pistol, Rifle/Hand Machine Carbine and Shotgun.
Computer literate.
Primary Duties
Reporting and recording of investigations by gathering information. Administering, collecting evidence, interviewing witnesses and suspects in compliance with Rand Water policies, standard operating procedures, rules and regulations
Maintaining of fences, gates and alarms by attending to breakdown on fences, repairing of isolators, isolation of alarm fences and tension of alarm fences.
Replacement of alarm fences, steel palisades and to obtain material and spares from the stores.
Compile and manage the budget requirements for the maintenance of fences, gates and alarm fences.
Control of the Protective Services Stores, issuing of Protective Services uniforms, cleaning material, balancing of all equipment in the Protective Services Stores and ensure general housekeeping.
Vehicle control by performing daily inspections of all Protective Service vehicles, log books, reporting of kilometer readings as well as general maintenance of vehicles with the Motor Mechanic.
Maintenance of access control system as well as capturing of information on the database of new employees, production of new access cards for employees and contractors as well as inducting new employees and contractors.
