Dis-Chem Pharmacies is continuously recruiting for its Casual Cashier Talent Pool across various stores in South Africa. This opportunity allows you to join a strategic group of pre-screened candidates who may be considered for future employment as cashier positions become available.

Job Purpose
The Casual Cashier role supports customer service excellence at the point of sale, ensuring a world-class shopping experience. You will process transactions accurately and comply with all company procedures, minimizing risks such as fraud.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Deliver professional customer service at checkout.
- Process all transactions efficiently: cash, card, coupons, vouchers, etc.
- Ensure all stock leaving the store is scanned and paid for.
- Maintain till cash security and drop money as per SOP.
- Exchange and return items with proper authorisation.
- Keep up with ongoing promotions and inform customers.
- Handle loyalty card transactions (e.g., Discovery, Momentum, eBucks).
- Report suspicious behavior and assist with loss prevention.
- Address customer queries regarding store products.
- Keep your cashier login credentials secure and private.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 / Matric certificate
- 6 months’ experience in cashier or till operations
- Computer literacy (MS Office)
- Good numerical skills
- Strong communication in English
- Willingness to work retail hours
Advantageous:
- Ability to speak a third South African language
