Anglo American Platinum Mogalakwena Mine is offering exciting Artisan Learnership opportunities to passionate South African youth. These positions aim to support community development and skills enrichment in line with Anglo American’s Social and Labour Plan.

This three-year Engineering Learnership Program gives candidates exposure to classroom and on-the-job training. It’s a life-changing opportunity to earn, learn, and build a skilled future.

Available Learnerships

Qualified candidates will be considered for the following positions:

  • Learnership: Fitter x1
  • Learnership: Boilermaker (Plater) x1
  • Learnership: Rigger x1
  • Learnership: Earthmoving Mechanic x2
  • Learnership: Diesel Mechanic x2

Training Structure

  • Year 1: Institutional training at Engineering Skills Training Centre (ESTC)
  • Year 2: Practical on-the-job training at Mogalakwena Mine
  • Year 3: Final preparation and trade test

Minimum Qualifications Anglo Platinum learnership

You must have one of the following:

  • Matric (Grade 12) with 40% minimum in Mathematics (not Math Literacy), Physical Science, and English
  • N2 certificate or higher in the relevant trade discipline
  • NCV Level 4 in the relevant trade with 40% minimum in all subjects

Trade Test Requirements Anglo Platinum learnership

  • N2 Certificate with:
    • Mathematics
    • Engineering Science
    • Relevant Trade Theory
    • Industrial Electronics / Engineering Drawing / Plating Structural Drawing
  • Or NCV Level 4 in relevant trade

Eligibility Criteria

To apply, you must:

  • Be a South African citizen
  • Be medically fit and able to pass a fitness certificate
  • Be willing to work in surface/open pit/dusty areas
  • Be open to shift work
  • Have no criminal record
  • Pass a psychometric assessment
  • Possess good English communication skills
  • Driver’s license is advantageous

What You Will Receive

  • Monthly stipend/allowance during the program
  • Free training and experiential learning
  • Provision of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Nationally recognized qualification after successful completion
