The Old Mutual Insurance Learnership offers unemployed youth the chance to earn an Occupational Certificate: Insurance Agent (Underwriter) NQF Level 5. This learnership provides theoretical training combined with workplace experience to help you gain practical knowledge in the short-term insurance and trade credit insurance industries.


Duties and Responsibilities

As a learner, you will:

  • Assist insurance underwriters with daily administrative and client-facing tasks
  • Participate in training workshops and on-the-job learning
  • Gain exposure to Old Mutual’s business units and insurance processes
  • Support the business in delivering customer-focused services
  • Learn from some of the most experienced professionals in the insurance industry

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for this learnership, you must:

  • Be a South African citizen
  • Be currently unemployed
  • Have Grade 12 with Mathematics or Math Literacy and two languages
  • Not be currently studying or planning to study during the learnership period
  • Not have more than 1 year of work experience
  • Not have participated in an INSETA learnership before
  • Have a clear criminal and credit record
  • Disabled candidates must provide a valid medical certificate
  • A post-matric qualification is advantageous but not required
