Duties and Responsibilities for Nando’s Restaurant Manager Job
1. Financial Management
- Ensure accurate daily financial administration
- Assist in managing expenditure and achieving gross profit targets
- Reduce losses through stock control, waste tracking, and managing pilferage
- Support performance improvement plans for key business indicators
- Track and evaluate daily financial targets like turnover and ticket averages
2. Operational Management
- Maintain efficient stock control processes
- Perform daily checks on hygiene, health & safety, equipment, and cleanliness
- Support improvement plans for audit results and operational compliance
- Ensure the restaurant adheres to all Nando’s operational standards
3. People Management
- Assist in staff rostering and ensure proper shift coverage
- Support staff recruitment, onboarding, and training
- Monitor attendance, enforce disciplinary policies, and escalate concerns
- Provide coaching, feedback, and performance support
- Ensure staff are properly trained and signed off on required materials
4. Marketing and Customer Experience
- Help execute national, regional, and local marketing campaigns
- Respond to customer complaints professionally and promptly
- Assist with plans to improve mystery shopper results
- Support local marketing efforts to boost traffic and sales
5. Acting Restaurant Manager (When Needed)
- Step into the full management role when the Restaurant Manager is absent
Minimum Requirements for Nando’s Restaurant Manager Job
To be considered, candidates must have:
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- 2 to 3 years of restaurant management experience
- Strong computer literacy (Microsoft Office)
- Attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Knowledge of restaurant operations and customer service
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of management experience in a restaurant setting
- Valid driver’s license and own reliable vehicle
