Job Description
The IT Support Technician is responsible for resolving all desktop, network, and software-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal IT infrastructure performance. This hands-on role includes troubleshooting, installations, user support, asset tracking, and backup verification.
Key Responsibilities:
- Resolve logged IT issues (desktops, laptops, printers, network)
- Install and configure software, provide end-user training
- Monitor and maintain system performance and backups
- Administer user profiles and access on domain
- Conduct proactive support for desktops, telephones, notebooks, and printers
- Update and maintain the IT asset register
- Perform regular system and network updates and patches
- Implement IT security policies and procedures
- Provide basic support for switches and network devices
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric certificate
- CompTIA A+ and Network+ certification
- MCDST (Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician)
- Valid Code 08 Driver’s Licence
- 3+ years’ experience in a Windows desktop and network support role

- Strong troubleshooting and analytical abilities

- Excellent communication and user-support skills
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks
- Deadline-driven, self-starter with planning and organizational skills
